Angel Wing in Ducks: Causes and Prevention
An angel wing duck has a wing that does not fold flat. The lower feathers point outward, often on one side first, and the wing looks crooked rather than neatly tucked.
Risk rises when growth is pushed too fast, often through rich feed, too many extras, or too little room to move. The one mistake to avoid is adding treats, meat, eggs, or high calorie feeds while feathers are coming in.
If you catch it early, feed changes and more space may help. If you catch it late, the wing may stay crooked. Get an avian vet opinion if the bird is in pain, swollen, or suddenly cannot use the wing.
